Entries to the 59th (2025) congress are now closed.
Players attending the congress who may wish to purchase refreshments are reminded to bring cash, as we do not have the capacity to process card payments. There are cashpoints within walking distance of the venue.
Since 1964 the congress has been held annually over the August Bank Holiday weekend, attracting players from the local area and further afield. Our current venue is St Piran’s School, Maidenhead.
The top sections of the congress are FIDE-rated, and all sections are ECF-rated.
As one of the UK’s longest-running weekend congresses, we are always keen to welcome new players, as well as those who have played in previous years. We have sections suitable for all levels, from near-beginners upwards. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s event.
